Alberto Medina is a PICU Consultant in Hospital Universitario Central de Asturias (Oviedo, Spain).

He has more than 25 years of experience in Paediatric Intensive Care. He is a founding member of the Respiratory Failure working group for the Spanish Paediatric Critical Care Society, as well as a member of the Respiratory group in the ESPNIC since 2010.

He was chairman for Professional Development at the ESPNIC until 2023.

He is editor of over fifteen books in the PICU area, twelve of which are directly related to paediatric and neonatal mechanical ventilation. Author of more than two hundred publications.

His passion is education and he has been faculty (nationally and internationally) for courses covering: CPR, trauma, transport, simulation, mechanical ventilation, non-invasive mechanical ventilation, ARDS.
